Packaging Operator

About the role

The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring that products are packaged efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves operating and maintaining packaging machinery, conducting quality checks, and handling materials throughout the production process.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and operate packaging machines according to company standards.
• Inspect finished products for correct seals, labels, and packaging integrity.
• Perform routine cleaning, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimize downtime.
• Complete production logs and reports documenting output and any issues.
• Follow all safety protocols, keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Manage inventory of packaging materials and move completed goods to designated storage areas.

Required profile

• Strong manual dexterity for repetitive handling and sorting tasks.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling and packaging.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move products.
• Effective communication skills for teamwork and reporting issues.

Required skills

• Operation of automated packaging machinery.
• Basic computer usage for machine controls and documentation.
• Preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
• Quality inspection of packaged products.
