Operations Manager – Linehaul

About the role

Amazon is looking for an Operations Manager to lead line‑haul operations across its middle‑mile network. The role works closely with fulfillment centers, sort centers, last‑mile partners and internal planning teams to develop, plan and execute surface transportation for Amazon’s various business lines.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day execution, planning, network expansion and carrier relationships for line‑haul and medium‑range (LH/MR) services.
• Build and maintain relationships with carriers, schedule LH/MR routes on a weekly/monthly basis and scale capacity for peak sales events.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects focused on safety, cost, efficiency and network reliability.
• Drive national and regional programs by collaborating with planning, S&OP, air‑haul, rail‑haul, network design and other stakeholders.
• Analyze carrier performance metrics such as truck utilization, arrival performance and in‑transit losses, and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience, or equivalent experience at Amazon.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Proven ability to drive process improvements, work independently with limited guidance and motivate teams in a fast‑growing environment.
• Experience with performance metrics, lean or continuous‑improvement techniques is preferred.
