Occupational Health Physician

About the role

The Occupational Health Physician will lead and manage occupational health programs for ExxonMobil’s operations across India. Based in Bangalore, the role ensures compliance with health regulations, supports employee wellbeing, and provides clinical expertise for work‑related health issues.

Key responsibilities

• Implement global health practices, systems and health risk assessments.
• Advise business lines to achieve compliance with health regulations and corporate policies.
• Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations to determine fitness for work and treat work‑related injuries and illnesses.
• Provide travel health services, including vaccinations and primary care for employees.
• Develop and run health surveillance programs for workers exposed to occupational hazards.
• Prepare for and execute emergency medical response; participate in the country Emergency Support Group as needed.
• Support the corporate Alcohol & Drug policy through Medical Review Officer activities and case management.
• Deliver clinical management of work‑related illnesses and injuries.
• Lead safety and health initiatives and promote a culture of wellbeing.
• Prepare business plans and budgets for occupational health programs and services.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Full registration with the Indian Medical Council and a valid practicing licence.
• Post‑graduate qualification, preferably in Internal or Emergency Medicine, with training in Occupational Medicine.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary, cross‑functional teams.
• Flexibility to operate across global time zones and support 24/7 operations.
