Multi-Purpose Health Worker (Tier I) – Support for Survivors

About the role

The Multi-Purpose Health Worker (Tier I) supports survivors of sexual violence by delivering essential medical care and coordinating with referral hospitals. Working under the supervision of a Medical Officer, the ANM ensures timely first‑aid, maintains pharmacy supplies, and records medical information for each case.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Medical Officer in delivering medical care to survivors.
• Provide First‑Aid and administer prescribed treatments.
• Maintain the pharmacy and other medical and nursing utilities at the centre.
• Update and keep the Medical Case Register and victim’s medical history.
• Accompany victims to designated hospitals for forensic evidence collection and medical examinations.
• Support victims during the admission process at referral hospitals and track their progress.
• Facilitate medically authorized procedures such as MTP/Abortion at approved hospitals.
• Assist with delivery care for victims when required.

Required profile

• Qualified Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) or equivalent nursing certification.
• Experience in providing care to survivors of sexual assault is desirable.
• Ability to handle confidential medical records and coordinate with hospitals.
