Mobile Application Developer

About the role

Academy is a fast‑growing media company that operates dozens of YouTube channels covering business, tech, finance and more. We are looking for a Mobile Application Developer to create and scale companion apps that extend our video content into interactive mobile experiences, helping to drive audience growth, retention and monetisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain native iOS and/or Android applications, as well as cross‑platform solutions.
• Integrate apps with our content ecosystem, including feed integration, push notifications, community features and other utility tools.
• Implement and consume APIs and backend services required for content delivery and user interaction.
• Ensure high performance, responsiveness and scalability across a range of devices.
• Collaborate with design, content and operations teams to define product requirements and translate them into functional features.
• Analyse user engagement data to continuously improve UX and drive growth metrics.
• Troubleshoot bugs, optimise performance and maintain app stability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Mobile App Developer (iOS, Android or cross‑platform).
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, API consumption and backend integration.
• Ability to translate business and content needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, iterative environment and collaborating with non‑technical teams.

Required skills

• iOS development (Swift/Objective‑C) or Android development (Kotlin/Java).
• Cross‑platform frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter) – optional.
• Mobile architecture design.
• API integration and backend services.
• Experience with content‑driven or consumer‑facing applications.
