Merchant Onboarding Executive

About the role

The Merchant Onboarding Executive plays a critical role in expanding the company’s merchant network. This position is responsible for managing the complete onboarding lifecycle of new merchants, from initial application through verification, approval, and settlement, while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end onboarding of merchants, including KYC/KYB verification, ensuring all required documentation is collected, validated, and stored securely.
• Review and approve merchant applications in line with internal policies, confirming that each submission meets the defined criteria before granting access.
• Ensure adherence to defined turnaround times (TATs) and onboarding service level agreements (SLAs), monitoring performance metrics and taking corrective actions when needed.
• Handle complex onboarding cases and escalations, providing timely resolutions and coordinating with relevant internal teams.
• Ensure onboarding processes comply with RBI guidelines and internal risk frameworks, continuously updating procedures to reflect regulatory changes.
• Support internal and external audits with proper documentation, preparing reports and evidence to demonstrate compliance.
