Merchandiser – Furniture & Lighting

About the role

The Merchandiser – Furniture & Lighting will drive new product development from concept to market launch, working closely with designers, vendors and internal teams. This role blends market research, creative planning and supply‑chain coordination to deliver seasonal collections that meet style and profitability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct market visits, research and surveys to define target‑market requirements and create mood boards for each season.
• Collaborate with designers to finalise sample designs, place orders with DP vendors and monitor sample progress.
• Maintain a sampling tracker, archive design samples and manage a catalogue of styles, swatches and competitive benchmarks.
• Analyse market trends, evolve the product catalogue and prepare internal range presentations up to the MRH.
• Coordinate photo‑shoots and visual‑merchandising material with the B&M department, ensuring product availability.
• Define final product cost, align sample cost with GP targets and place orders on Fabconnect within budget timelines.
• Identify new vendor opportunities, transfer leads to SCM and support vendor management activities.
• Visit stores and competitors regularly to capture emerging trends and address gaps in adopted stores.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in merchandising, sampling and product development.
• Educational qualification: B.F.Tech or M.F.Tech.
• Strong knowledge of Fabindia product lines and market dynamics.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end product development cycles.
