Medical Officer – Mobile Medical Unit

About the role

The Medical Officer will serve as the senior clinical authority on a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) bus, delivering frontline healthcare to industrial labourers and underserved communities. This position combines clinical expertise with rapid decision‑making and clear communication across language and literacy barriers.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret all 44 health parameters generated by the HealthATM terminal for each patient.
• Identify abnormal, borderline, or critical values and flag them for immediate clinical action.
• Correlate multiple parameters to form a holistic clinical picture and distinguish between acute findings requiring referral and chronic conditions needing management.
• Conduct structured OPD‑style consultations for every screened patient, listening, examining, and advising.
• Communicate findings clearly in Hindi and/or local dialects, explaining diagnoses, risk factors, and lifestyle recommendations in simple language.
• Address patient concerns with patience and professionalism while maintaining an efficient consultation pace.

Required profile

• Qualified MBBS doctor with a valid medical license.
• Experience in primary care, community health, or similar frontline settings.
• Ability to work independently in a mobile environment and make swift clinical decisions.
• Strong communication skills in Hindi and local dialects.
• Empathy, professionalism, and the capacity to handle high patient footfall.
