Medical Officer

About the role

This full-time, on-site Medical Officer position is based in Kutch, Gujarat. The role involves delivering comprehensive medical care to both out-patient and in-patient populations, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the hospital’s quality and safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, record medical histories and perform clinical examinations.
• Order, interpret and act on diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications and monitor progress.
• Participate in ward rounds, emergency management and stabilization of critical cases.
• Support minor surgical procedures and provide pre- and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation in electronic systems.
• Engage in patient education, counseling and health promotion activities.
• Contribute to clinical audits, quality-improvement projects and mentor junior staff.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and valid registration with the relevant medical council.
• Experience in hospital-based practice, preferably in emergency, internal medicine or general practice.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Strong clinical judgment, ethical practice and commitment to patient safety.
• Experience or exposure to minor surgical procedures is advantageous.
• Experience in training or mentoring junior medical or nursing staff is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and basic digital documentation tools.
