Medical Officer (Emergency & Trauma)

About the role

The Medical Officer will deliver primary medical care to patients in both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) settings at a well‑equipped Emergency Health Centre in Chumukedima, Nagaland. The role emphasizes emergency, trauma and critical‑care management in a challenging hilly terrain.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses.
• Conduct physical examinations and interpret basic diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Respond to medical emergencies, stabilize patients, and coordinate trauma care.
• Maintain accurate patient records, case sheets and reports.
• Collaborate with paramedics, nursing staff and operational teams to ensure seamless emergency response.

Required profile

• MBBS or MD (or equivalent) qualification.
• 0‑10 years of clinical experience; fresh graduates with strong interest in emergency care are welcome.
• Preferable experience in emergency, trauma, ICU, ambulance response or casualty management.
