Medical Coding Trainer

About the role

The Medical Coding Trainer will join Akilam Innovations Private Limited in Coimbatore on a full‑time, onsite basis. The role focuses on designing and delivering comprehensive training programmes in medical coding for learners and professionals, ensuring high standards of coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update training curricula, case studies, and coding exercises covering ICD, CPT and HCPCS systems.
• Prepare training materials and conduct classroom as well as hands‑on practical sessions.
• Assess learner performance, provide feedback and mentorship to improve coding proficiency.
• Stay current with coding guidelines, regulations and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to refine content and support talent development initiatives for healthcare and ITES clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience in medical coding and the ability to train learners on real‑world scenarios.
• Knowledge of Health Information Management practices and medical terminology.
• RHIT or equivalent certification (preferred but not mandatory).
• Track record of training at least 150 coders.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
