Mechanical Service Engineer – Data Center Operations

About the role

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Mechanical Service Engineer responsible for the maintenance and operation of mechanical and HVAC systems in AWS data centers across India. You will ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of critical facility infrastructure while supporting 24x7 on‑call and rotational shift requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end operations and maintenance of data‑center mechanical assets, including incident handling, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem documentation.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance and repairs of site‑critical mechanical and HVAC equipment.
• Manage asset and inventory records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Develop and maintain method statements, SOPs, emergency response procedures, and technical documentation.
• Communicate technical information and operating philosophies to Amazon teams and external vendors.
• Provide hands‑on facility support during emergencies and coordinate vendor response.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with mechanical and HVAC systems in a data‑center or similar high‑availability environment.
• Ability to work 24x7 on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies promptly.
• Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with automation of maintenance processes.
• Effective communication and vendor‑management capabilities.
