Mechanical Service Engineer – AWS Infrastructure

About the role

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Mechanical Service Engineer responsible for the maintenance and operation of critical mechanical and HVAC systems in AWS data centers across India. You will work on a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure continuous, safe, and cost‑effective operation of the infrastructure that powers AWS services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment including DX units, split AC, ductable AC, VRF systems, exhaust fans and DAHUs.
• Manage chilled water systems such as chillers, pumps, motorized valves, dampers, actuators, chemical dosing systems and make‑up tank systems.
• Maintain fire safety systems, including hydrant and sprinkler networks and emergency response equipment.
• Conduct generator system maintenance covering A‑check, B‑check, C‑check and D‑check procedures.
• Execute non‑destructive testing methods like thermography, eddy‑current testing and ultrasonic testing.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, risk‑management protocols and infrastructure protection standards.
• Coordinate with vendors for spare parts procurement and support processes.
• Prepare 52‑week preventive maintenance calendars, develop MOPs/SOPs, and manage work‑order approvals.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience maintaining mechanical, HVAC, and related systems in a data‑center or industrial environment.
• Willingness to work 24 × 7 on‑call rotation and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and risk‑management practices.
