Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to lead and optimise our plant’s maintenance activities. The role focuses on planning, executing and continuously improving preventive and predictive maintenance programmes while ensuring equipment reliability and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Plan maintenance jobs with clear scope, resource and time requirements.
• Monitor execution of maintenance tasks and take corrective action when deviations occur.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) schedules and manage breakdown response.
• Use equipment history to shift maintenance approach from reactive to planned.
• Lead structured root‑cause analyses for breakdowns using Pareto, fishbone and FMEA methods, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and verified.
• Manage spare‑parts consumption and inventory, coordinating with stores to secure timely procurement and avoid downtime.
• Oversee specialist contractors for repairs, ensuring quality, safety compliance and schedule adherence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to conduct root‑cause investigations.
• Excellent organisational skills to plan and track maintenance activities.
• Familiarity with safety standards and contractor management.
