Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for steel‑based equipment and structures. The role involves applying industry‑standard tolerancing and collaborating with manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet functional and safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D mechanical models and detailed drawings using PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
• Design and optimise steel structures for various applications.
• Apply GD&T principles and ensure compliance with relevant tolerancing standards.
• Interpret and incorporate welding, mechanical joint, and bolted‑connection specifications.
• Select appropriate materials, focusing on steel and polymer options, and evaluate their suitability.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in PTC Creo and AutoCAD.
• Advanced skills in 3D modelling and mechanical design.
• Solid experience designing steel structures.
• Good knowledge of GD&T (GPS tolerancing a plus).
• Familiarity with welding standards, mechanical joints and bolted connections.
• Understanding of material properties, especially steel and polymers.
• Fluent English (C1 level).
• Nice‑to‑have experience in the Oil & Gas sector and knowledge of NORSOK, DNV, API standards.
• Nice‑to‑have experience with TeamCenter or similar PLM tools.
