Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Quest Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop special‑purpose machines. The role involves turning manufacturing requirements into detailed 3D models, assemblies and production‑ready drawings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and verification reviews with internal and external teams.
• Create complex 3D sheet‑metal and casting models, assemblies and 2D detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
• Conceptualise and design special‑purpose machines based on specific production needs.
• Apply GD&T principles and perform hand calculations to validate designs.
• Select appropriate materials, heat‑treatments and integrate bought‑out components such as motors, cylinders and actuators.
• Report daily progress to the Team Leader and conduct internal quality checks.
• Communicate design intent and status with global engineering teams in English (French is a plus).

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in machine or special‑purpose machine design.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, material properties and heat treatment.
• Ability to perform hand calculations and apply GD&T.
• Fluent written and spoken English; French knowledge considered an advantage.
