Mechanical Design Engineer – HVAC, Plumbing & Fire Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and optimisation of HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and fire protection systems for large‑scale projects. The role involves detailed calculations, preparation of construction drawings and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, efficient installations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise HVAC systems, including central plant, air distribution and control strategies.
• Perform load calculations and energy simulations to size equipment appropriately.
• Develop plumbing layouts for domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, storm‑water management and ensure adherence to local codes.
• Design sewage treatment plants, reverse‑osmosis water treatment units and solid‑waste treatment facilities.
• Prepare fire alarm, sprinkler and hydrant system designs, conduct fire safety risk analyses and obtain necessary approvals.
• Produce detailed design drawings, specifications and calculation reports.
• Coordinate with civil, structural and electrical engineers as well as contractors and suppliers to guarantee seamless integration.
• Conduct site visits to supervise installation, commissioning and quality checks.
• Support the manager in design reviews and technical discussions with stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• LEED or other sustainability certification is a plus.
• 4–8 years of experience designing MEP systems for large projects.
• Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (plumbing, fire safety, HVAC, water quality).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
