Material Handling CHP Engineer – Manager

About the role

Adani is seeking a seasoned Manager to lead the Material Handling CHP Engineering function for its coal handling plant. The role ensures operational efficiency, safety, and timely project delivery across thermal power projects.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and optimise material handling layouts for thermal power projects.
• Lead commissioning and startup of coal handling equipment such as conveyors, crushers, stackers, reclaimers and feeders.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, monitor performance indicators and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage vendors, contractors and service providers to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
• Enforce Adani’s safety protocols, conduct safety audits and promote a zero‑harm culture.
• Monitor project budgets, optimise resources and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, logs and performance reports for senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
• Drive continuous improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Preferred certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Relevant certifications in material handling or thermal power plant operations (e.g., NPTI) are advantageous.
• Safety certifications such as NEBOSH are highly desirable.
