Marine Surveyor – Plan Approval (Electrical, Automation & Fire Safety)

About the role

Join Bureau Veritas in Mumbai as a Marine Surveyor focusing on plan approval for electrical, automation and fire safety systems. You will work in a collaborative environment reviewing vessel designs for compliance with classification rules and statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Review electrical arrangements, automation, fire detection, alarm and communication systems, calculations and documentation for compliance.
• Prepare technical findings and recommendations, liaise with clients, manufacturers, surveyors and internal departments, and resolve design and regulatory issues.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical, Marine, Electro‑Technical Engineering or related field.
• 5‑8 years of experience in plan approval, ship electrical design or related marine engineering.
• Good knowledge of classification rules and international maritime regulations.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
