Manager Occupational, Transport & Environment Safety

About the role

The Manager Occupational, Transport & Environment Safety will support BASF India in implementing occupational safety, environmental protection and transport safety initiatives. The role ensures compliance with national regulations, BASF standards and drives continuous improvement of EHS performance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of occupational safety, environment protection and transport safety strategies in India.
• Interpret and translate mandatory requirements into actionable plans for sites and offices.
• Monitor and report on OS, EP and TDS targets and KPIs to improve EHS performance.
• Coordinate incident reporting and management for all injury cases.
• Oversee regulatory compliance by conducting gap analyses and planning corrective actions.
• Conduct internal and external RCMS audits.
• Collaborate with the EHS HUB, corporate governance and digitalisation teams to develop and roll‑out EHS tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in occupational safety, environmental protection or transport safety, preferably in the chemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of Indian EHS regulations and BASF safety standards.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with sites, offices and external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
