Lead Arborist – Advanced Tree Care Specialist

About the role

The Lead Arborist will oversee high‑level arboricultural operations, ensuring safe and efficient work in tree canopies of any size. This role combines advanced climbing techniques, technical rigging, and client communication to deliver professional tree care services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform modern arboricultural practices at a senior level.
• Ascend and work safely aloft using SRS, MRS, and traditional climbing methods.
• Execute spur‑assisted hazard tree removal and prune trees to ISA standards.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws with precision.
• Conduct technical rigging for large limb and tree removal, including aerial rescues.
• Install static and dynamic cabling and bracing systems.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of industry experience.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Strong client communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid certifications.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist (asset).
• 0‑8 tonne crane competency certificate (asset).
• Utility Arborist 444B certification (asset).
• IHSA Line Clearing Safety and Awareness certification (asset).
• D licence with Z endorsement preferred.
