Lead Arborist

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Arborist to perform advanced arboricultural practices, safely work aloft in tree canopies, and lead tree removal and pruning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform modern arboricultural practices at a high level, including pruning to ISA standards and hazard tree removal using SRS, MRS, and traditional climbing methods.
• Ascend and work safely in tree canopies of any size, operating aerial lifts, static/dynamic cabling, and rigging for large limb and tree removal.
• Conduct aerial rescues, install cabling and bracing systems, and ensure safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of industry experience.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Excellent client communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to safely operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid certification.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist (asset).
• 0‑8 tonne crane competency certificate (asset).
