Manager / Assistant Manager – D&E Process Steel Making

About the role

The Manager / Assistant Manager – D&E Process Steel Making will provide engineering expertise for the design, engineering and delivery of a Steel Melting Shop within an integrated steel plant. The role involves conceptualising the shop, selecting appropriate steel‑making equipment, estimating capital and operating costs, and ensuring timely engineering deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise and design the Steel Melting Shop for an integrated steel plant.
• Select primary and secondary steel‑making and refining equipment based on technical criteria.
• Prepare Capex and Opex estimates for the steel‑making shop.
• Coordinate with technology suppliers, engineering agencies and equipment vendors to ensure timely delivery of engineering packages.
• Prepare and release equipment specifications, conduct tender appraisal and approve vendor engineering deliverables.
• Review and approve detailed engineering released by consultants and technology partners.
• Maintain centralized engineering documentation and perform value‑engineering reviews to optimise costs.
• Lead reverse‑engineering activities for spare parts or small facilities when feasible.

Required profile

• BE/B.Tech in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline, or B.Arch approved by AICTE/UGC.
