Maintenance Technician (Utility)

About the role

The Maintenance Technician (Utility) ensures continuous, reliable operation of all utility systems supporting production. Working within a pharmaceutical environment, you will execute preventive and corrective maintenance on a range of equipment while adhering to cGMP and EHS standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor utility performance and guarantee uninterrupted supply to production.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on brine chilling units, water chilling plants, cooling towers, nitrogen generation plants, boilers, air compressors and related equipment.
• Coordinate spare parts management with the Purchase & Store department.
• Plan, supervise, and issue safety permits for daily maintenance activities.
• Guide junior team members in utility and ETP operations.
• Validate utility performance parameters, complete cGMP documentation, and maintain log‑books for all systems.
• Verify safety interlocks, conduct vibration analysis, and implement CAPA actions.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety trainings and drills.

Required profile

• Knowledge of cGMP and EHS regulations in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work with work‑permit systems and safety procedures.
• Strong coordination skills with internal departments and external contractors.
• Experience supervising maintenance activities and supporting junior staff.

Required skills

• Preventive maintenance of utility equipment.
• Operation and maintenance of brine chilling, water chilling, cooling tower, nitrogen generation, boiler, water treatment and air compressor systems.
• Vibration analysis and CAPA implementation.
• Safety interlock verification and permit‑to‑work processes.
• cGMP documentation and validation.
• EHS compliance and incident reporting.
