Maintenance Technician – Lawn Care Services

About the role

The Maintenance (Grass Crew) Technician provides essential repair, upkeep, and lawn‑care services for the Harrison County School District facilities. Working on‑site, you will ensure that buildings, grounds, and equipment remain safe, functional, and well‑maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Operate motorized equipment, pickup trucks, and hand/power tools.
• Perform minor building repairs, HVAC routine maintenance, and plumbing fixture replacements.
• Carry out carpentry tasks, fence construction/repair, interior and exterior painting.
• Install or replace window glass, carpet, tile, and light fixtures.
• Maintain security and lock systems across all school properties.
• Respond to maintenance requests and radio calls promptly.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized; report hazards immediately.

Required profile

• Pass a criminal background check and child‑abuse registry check (Mississippi Code S37‑9‑17).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year formal training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, service work, or welding.
• Demonstrated experience in the above trades.
• Valid Mississippi Driver’s License with D endorsement.
• Physical ability to lift 45 lb, climb ladders, work overhead, and tolerate outdoor conditions.
