Logistics Specialist – Container Dispatch

About the role

This position is responsible for planning and tracking container movement using the most efficient routing each day. The dispatch function ensures time‑sensitive cargo reaches its destination within agreed terms and provides guidance to contract drivers to meet goals.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with customers, contract drivers, terminal personnel and internal service representatives to coordinate and resolve issues.
• Coordinate pick‑ups and deliveries with contract drivers, partner carriers, rail and port operators, and dispatch work orders for truck, rail and barge.
• Proactively inform customers of any delays and meet all service level and deadline requirements.
• Handle customer inquiries with empathy, aiming for positive NPS scores.
• Record and audit equipment documents, track container activity and manage additional costs.
• Update systems for appointments and drays, authorize equipment drops and monitor container idling.

Required profile

• Any graduate with 2‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SAP Transportation Management System (TMS) and MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of standardized work routines; ability to escalate non‑routine problems.
