Logistics Executive – Import & Clearance

About the role

Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is seeking a Logistics Executive to manage the import and clearance of parts, tools and equipment for its operations in Pune. The role focuses on ensuring safe, compliant and timely movement of goods while supporting the company’s strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Handle import clearance for Sandvik orders, tracking supply schedules and following up with suppliers for timely delivery.
• Monitor and control overall lead time of imports and coordinate clearance procedures at major Indian ports.
• Select, negotiate and manage forwarders, customs house agents, and transporters to secure cost‑effective services.
• Ensure documentation complies with Indian trade laws and Exim schemes such as Advance License, EPCG and MEIS.
• Arrange local dispatches, initiate RFQs, negotiate with transporters and manage legal documentation.
• Liaise with RTO, border and commercial departments to resolve objections on shipments.
• Conduct audits, maintain vendor registration, and oversee transit‑insurance claim processing.
• Set and measure KPIs for service providers and ensure trade‑compliance for all import transactions.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate or graduate degree with a specialization in supply chain management, EXIM or logistics operations.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to promote a safety‑first culture.
• In‑depth knowledge of Indian customs regulations and international trade compliance.
