Legal Officer – Real Estate & Construction

About the role

Bhatia Builders & Developers is seeking a proactive Legal Officer to oversee all legal matters related to its residential and commercial projects in Mumbai. The role involves ensuring compliance, managing litigation, and providing legal support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure legal compliance and manage the company’s legal affairs.
• Coordinate with external advocates and counsel on legal matters.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant law changes.
• Draft, review, and standardise contracts, letters, and other legal documents.
• Track and oversee all legal proceedings involving the group and its assets.
• Maintain organised legal documentation, including contracts, opinions, and policies.
• Assist with litigation and dispute resolution, including case management and document preparation.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, operations and other departments to address day‑to‑day legal issues.
• Process agreements for execution and brief relevant departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); a Master’s (LLM) is advantageous.
• Strong expertise in business law and general legal principles.
• Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and managing legal documents.
• In‑depth knowledge of contract law; experience in real‑estate or construction law is a plus.
• Analytical mindset with excellent problem‑solving abilities.
