Legal Manager

About the role

We are looking for a driven Legal Manager to lead the Legal & Compliance function for our NBFC business. The role offers end‑to‑end ownership of legal operations, balancing rigorous risk management with business enablement.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and finalise a wide range of contracts, including loan agreements, co‑lending, vendor, fintech partnership and NDA agreements.
• Maintain a central contract repository and drive contract lifecycle management (CLM) initiatives, including the adoption of legal tech tools.
• Provide legal counsel on RBI regulations, NBFC‑ML directives, Fair Practices Code, Digital Lending Guidelines, SARFAESI Act and other statutory frameworks.
• Advise business units on contractual risks, indemnity structures, limitation of liability clauses and termination rights.
• Support compliance with data protection (DPDPA 2023), payment systems (PSS Act 2007), credit information regulations and grievance redressal obligations.
• Assist the Compliance team with regulatory submissions, audit responses and RBI inspection queries.

Required profile

• Mid‑senior level professional with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Independent ownership of legal functions and ability to translate legal rigor into pragmatic business solutions.
• Experience in the NBFC or financial services sector is essential.
