Land Legal Expert – Title Search & Acquisition

About the role

We are seeking a Land Legal Expert to lead title search and due diligence for our utility‑scale renewable energy projects across India. The role involves managing all legal aspects of land acquisition, from reviewing agreements to coordinating with government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct title due diligence across multiple states, reviewing land records, title deeds, and government documents.
• Draft, vet and finalize agreements such as sale deeds, lease deeds, aggregator agreements, NOCs and POAs.
• Assist in registration, mutation and verification of land and property documents, including stamp duty and registration compliance.
• Coordinate with pan‑India lawyers, consultants and local authorities to obtain approvals, clearances and resolve lender queries.
• Manage litigation related to land matters, filing and defending criminal and civil cases, and provide regular case updates.
• Maintain a repository of legal and commercial documents, ensure proper filing in the company’s system and keep management informed of regulatory changes.

Required profile

• LLB degree with 2–4 years of experience in title search and land‑related legal matters, preferably in the solar or wind sector.
• Strong knowledge of land laws across Indian states and experience coordinating with revenue authorities, forest departments and local bodies.
• Proven ability to handle land‑related litigation and to draft/ vet a variety of land agreements.
• Established network of pan‑India lawyers and consultants to support land acquisition processes.
