Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to independently manage our litigation and contract portfolio. The role involves representing the company in courts and tribunals, drafting a wide range of legal documents, and providing expert advice on labour and employment matters.

Key responsibilities

• Appear, argue and file cases in civil, criminal, labour courts and tribunals, including Section 138 NI Act matters.
• Track hearings, review legal invoices, control litigation spend and maintain a litigation tracker with regular MIS reports.
• Draft complaints, plaints, statements, affidavits, legal notices and respond to notices.
• Draft, vet and negotiate commercial contracts such as NDAs, vendor agreements, consultancy/service agreements, lease & licence deeds, MoUs and SLAs.
• Maintain a contract repository with renewal and expiry tracking.
• Ensure compliance with labour and employment legislation and handle matters before labour authorities and courts.

Required profile

• Valid Bar Council enrolment (Sanad) with a Certificate of Practice.
• 3‑6 years of post‑enrolment experience combining litigation and in‑house work.
• Hands‑on experience with Section 138 NI Act matters.
• Strong knowledge of labour & employment law (advisory and contentious).
• Experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations, specifically the DPDP Act 2023.
