Legal Counsel

About the role

Scapia is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to strengthen its legal function across commercial advisory, regulatory matters, risk management, and dispute resolution. The role partners with business teams to enable growth while managing legal risk.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, partnerships, vendor contracts, and customer‑facing terms.
• Identify legal risks and recommend pragmatic mitigation measures.
• Support legal aspects of new products, initiatives, and partnerships.
• Draft and review responses to regulatory notices, summons, complaints, and liaise with regulators and government authorities.
• Manage litigation matters, coordinate with external counsel, and track dispute progress.
• Conduct legal research, prepare opinions, internal guidance notes, and risk assessments.
• Maintain legal trackers, dispute MIS, and support governance initiatives.

Required profile

• LL.B. from a reputed institution.
• 7–9 years of post‑qualification experience in corporate, commercial, or advisory legal roles.
• Experience handling commercial contracts, regulatory matters, and business advisory.
• Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution is preferred.
• Background in fintech, banking, payments, or technology sectors is a plus.
