Legal Consultant – Contracts Review & Data Privacy

About the role

We are looking for an experienced In‑House Attorney to join the PGS Legal Office in Pune. The consultant will act as a trusted legal advisor, handling contract review, negotiation and data‑privacy compliance for our India operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft, negotiate and advise on commercial contracts such as vendor agreements, service/license agreements, NDAs, consulting and client contracts.
• Ensure contracts comply with company policies, risk tolerance and Indian legal requirements, and conduct post‑contractual audits.
• Maintain contract templates, standards and playbooks for the India business.
• Advise on compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and related regulations.
• Support privacy policies, data‑processing agreements, consent frameworks and cross‑border data‑transfer mechanisms.
• Partner with IT, Security, HR and Compliance on data‑incident management and breach response.
• Provide training and awareness sessions on contract review and data privacy for sourcing and functional teams.
• Coordinate with global legal and compliance teams and manage external law‑firm engagements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law (LL.B.) from a recognized university; qualified to practice law in India.
• 10–15 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a multinational corporate legal department.
• Strong hands‑on experience in contracts management and data‑privacy matters.
• Experience supporting senior leadership and working in matrixed organizations.
