Lead Software Engineer - Automation Testing & Java Coding

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to drive automation testing and Java development within its Decision Management Platform, a high‑performance system that processes billions of transactions each month. You will work in the Operations & Technology Fraud Products team, helping to build innovative solutions that combat fraud and validate cardholder identity.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based components for the fraud detection platform.
• Implement and enhance automated test suites using Selenium and WebDriver.
• Collaborate with technical leads to define architecture and ensure high availability.
• Provide production support and act as a subject‑matter expert for incident resolution.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, coordinating offshore development activities.
• Perform performance testing and optimisation for high‑throughput environments.

Required profile

• 9‑12 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Java programming expertise.
• Experience with Selenium, WebDriver, SQL and Oracle databases.
• Background in high‑performance, message‑oriented applications.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams.
• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.
