Lead Software Engineer – AI & Decision Product Enablement

About the role

Mastercard’s Artificial Intelligence & Decision Product Enablement team is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design and delivery of intelligent, real‑time decision services that power fraud prevention and cyber intelligence across a global payments network. You will lead a cross‑functional group of engineers, shaping architecture, ensuring secure code, and fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own complex, cross‑service problems and coordinate resolution across multiple teams.
• Write, review, and scan production‑grade code, applying secure‑coding standards.
• Design and develop service‑level solutions that meet evolving business requirements.
• Prioritize features with product partners and build roadmaps for service enhancements.
• Automate software delivery pipelines and champion simplification.
• Integrate services seamlessly to meet end‑user expectations.
• Lead blameless post‑mortems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Introduce new technologies and architectures in line with enterprise guidelines.
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct hiring interviews, and evaluate promotion recommendations.

Required profile

• Proven ability to write secure code in one or more modern programming languages.
• Experience leading technical teams and driving cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong understanding of secure‑coding standards such as OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT.
• Track record of delivering high‑quality software at scale.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make trade‑off decisions.
