Lead, Platform Architect (Infrastructure Design Engineering)

About the role

The Lead, Platform Architect (Infrastructure Design Engineering) will guide Mastercard’s Infrastructure Design Engineering Community of Practice (IDE CoP). This role ensures alignment with standards, drives automation, and mentors the broader IDE teams to enhance design quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversight, communication, and enforcement of IDE standards and best practices through collaboration, documentation, and training.
• Collaborate with technical partner teams to align IDE standards with current direction and future updates.
• Provide oversight to the larger Infrastructure Design team on new design solutions, standards, and patterns.
• Develop new tools for IDE that increase efficiency and capability.
• Document and share IDE CoP knowledge via mentoring, training, and knowledge‑base updates.
• Ensure all IDEs apply engineering principles consistently with IDE standards.
• Consult on complex initiatives to promote architecture that supports business strategies and Mastercard standards.
• Define future automation needs and opportunities with technical partners.
• Approve or modify proposed designs to ensure compliance with standards.
• Create, consolidate, and update documentation, standards, and processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience within Mastercard IDE or similar infrastructure design environments.
• Strong knowledge of IDE standards, best practices, and engineering principles.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional technical teams.
• Experience in mentoring, training, and knowledge‑base management.
• Capability to consult on complex architectural initiatives and drive automation.
