Lead Engineer – Mobile Application Development (React Native)

About the role

Foodhub is looking for a Lead Engineer to own the design, development, testing and deployment of high‑quality cross‑platform mobile applications. You will work with React Native and TypeScript to deliver seamless iOS and Android experiences for our fast‑growing hospitality tech ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and release mobile apps using React Native and TypeScript.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of feature delivery, from technical design through monitoring and post‑launch iteration.
• Shape mobile architecture, including state management, navigation, offline behavior and native bridges.
• Work with the React Native New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI) and Hermes for performance optimisation.
• Build and maintain reusable component libraries shared across Foodhub brands.
• Develop native modules in Swift and Kotlin and resolve build issues in Xcode and Android Studio.
• Implement automated testing with Jest, React Native Testing Library and end‑to‑end tools such as Detox or Maestro.
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane, EAS Build, App Center or similar.
• Lead code reviews focusing on quality, security, accessibility and maintainability.
• Define AI‑assisted coding standards and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade React Native applications for iOS and Android.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture and performance optimisation.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable TypeScript code and integrate native Swift/Kotlin modules.
• Experience with modern AI coding assistants and establishing coding standards.
• Excellent collaboration skills with product, design, backend, QA and EPOS teams.
