Lead Engineer – CAD & Powertrain Integration

About the role

The Lead Engineer will serve as the Gas Path CAD Lead for our powertrain integration team. This senior position focuses on creating and validating CAD models that meet vehicle package guidelines and support both prototype and production phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 2D and 3D CAD models for powertrain components using CATIA V5/V6.
• Perform package checks, generate clearance reports, and ensure cross‑commodity liaison.
• Conduct benchmarking studies and propose innovative design solutions.
• Manage timely S/T/P releases, BOM creation, weight tracking, and change management.
• Support prototype and production BOM build, ensuring accurate data in PLM tools.

Required profile

• 6–9 years of experience in the automotive domain, specifically with powertrain systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of plastic and sheet‑metal design guidelines and manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• CATIA V5 and CATIA V6 (2D/3D) proficiency.
• Experience with PLM tools such as Teamcenter.
• Familiarity with Vismockup and Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of PCDS, commodity release processes, and BOM management.
