Lead Construction Engineer – CHO Projects MEP

About the role

The Lead Construction Engineer will drive the execution of CHO MEP projects, ensuring equipment is installed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with design specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, standards and vendor GA drawings; identify and resolve clashes with other disciplines.
• Develop detailed unit plot plans for equipment erection and provide feedback to the project team.
• Prepare erection sequences based on front availability, priority and delivery dates.
• Define P&M requirements, draft tentative schedules and obtain budget approval.
• Verify alignment of equipment base‑plate holes with civil foundation bolts and structure support holes.
• Raise purchase requisitions for templates, packer plates, erection and grouting items.
• Classify equipment by weight and complexity, create scope of work and expedite deliveries.
• Coordinate with project teams to mitigate long‑lead item delays and address transit damages.
• Supervise safe equipment erection, confirm proper foundation bolt casting, and approve rigging schemes for lifts up to 50 MT.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 14‑16 years of experience, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with 24‑26 years of experience.

Required skills

• Knowledge of equipment manufacturing codes and standards.
• Proficiency in crane operation and rigging scheme preparation.
• Ability to check equipment level and verticality.
• Expertise in rotary equipment alignment.
