Lead Associate Product Owner – Agile Scrum Team

About the role

The Lead Associate Product Owner will maximise the value delivered by an Agile Scrum team for Davies’ UK&I IT department. Acting as the client’s voice, you will translate business needs into clear user stories and ensure product delivery aligns with strategic objectives and user‑centred design principles.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog, aligning it with client needs and business priorities.
• Translate business objectives into actionable delivery items for the Scrum team.
• Communicate product vision and goals across teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in product planning and lifecycle activities with senior leaders.
• Create, refine and prioritise user stories, features and epics.
• Develop acceptance criteria using the Given‑When‑Then Gherkin format.
• Ensure backlog transparency, clarity and readiness for development.
• Collaborate with design and engineering to support UI/UX wireframes and prototypes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Lead Associate Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment.
• Strong understanding of Scrum methodologies and product management principles.
• Ability to deconstruct problems and translate them into user stories and requirements.
• Background or exposure to technical environments such as .Net, Python, Java or cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Data‑driven decision‑making and strong client focus.
• Self‑starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
