Lead Arborist

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Arborist to oversee advanced tree care operations, ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction across all projects. This senior‑level position combines hands‑on climbing work with team leadership and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Perform modern arboricultural practices at a high level, including hazard tree removal and ISA‑standard pruning.
• Climb and work safely in tree canopies of any size using SRS, MRS, and traditional methods.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws with precision.
• Execute technical rigging, install static and dynamic cabling and bracing systems, and conduct aerial rescues when needed.
• Demonstrate and enforce safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and clients, fostering teamwork and excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of arboriculture experience.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Current certifications: Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist preferred.

• Spur‑assisted hazard tree removal techniques.
• ISA‑standard pruning methods.
• Aerial lift operation.
• Rigging for large limb and tree removal.
• Static and dynamic cabling and bracing installation.
• Operation of brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws.
• 0‑8 tonne crane competency (asset).
• Utility Arborist 444B certification (asset).
