Lead Arborist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Arborist to oversee advanced tree care operations. The successful candidate will apply modern arboricultural techniques, lead a crew safely in the canopy, and ensure high‑quality service for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced arboricultural tasks, including pruning to ISA standards and hazard tree removal.
• Climb and work safely in tree canopies of any size using SRS, MRS, and traditional methods.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws with precision.
• Rig large limbs and trees, install static and dynamic cabling and bracing systems.
• Conduct aerial rescues and perform crane‑assisted lifts (0‑8 tonne competency).
• Maintain and demonstrate safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Communicate clearly with team members and clients, providing excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of professional arboriculture experience.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract; D licence with Z endorsement preferred.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid certifications.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist (asset).
• Utility Arborist 444B, IHSA Line Clearing Safety and Awareness (asset).

• Technical rigging for large limb and tree removal.
• Static and dynamic cabling and bracing installation.
• Operation of brush chippers, stumpers and chainsaws.
• 0‑8 tonne crane competency.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid certifications.
