Lead Arborist

About the role

The Lead Arborist will oversee advanced tree care operations, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards. This role combines hands‑on climbing, pruning, and removal work with technical rigging and client communication.

Key responsibilities

• Perform modern arboricultural practices at a high level, including pruning to ISA standards.
• Climb and work safely in tree canopies of any size using SRS, MRS, and traditional methods.
• Execute spur‑assisted hazard tree removal and large‑limb rigging.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws with precision.
• Install static and dynamic cabling and bracing systems.
• Conduct aerial rescues and demonstrate safe work practices and PPE usage.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and clients, providing excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of industry experience in arboriculture.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid certifications.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist (preferred).
• Utility Arborist 444A/444B, IHSA Line Clearing Safety, 0‑8 tonne crane competency, D licence with Z endorsement (assets).
