Lead AI Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s AI Platform Engineering team is looking for a Lead AI Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise‑wide AI platforms. You will work at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, MLOps, and AI operations to enable secure, scalable, and reliable AI solutions across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement foundational AI and machine‑learning platforms for enterprise use.
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of AI workloads in public and private cloud environments.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, security, and governance teams to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, observability, and incident response.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote best practices for AI development and deployment.

Required profile

• Strong background in software engineering and cloud platform development.
• Experience delivering production‑grade AI/ML systems at scale.
• Passion for automation, reliability, and enabling other teams to innovate.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with diverse technical and business stakeholders.
