Landside Operations Manager

About the role

The Landside Operations Manager leads the planning and execution of road and rail transportation activities, ensuring cargo moves safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. This senior position supports Maersk’s commitment to operational excellence and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute landside transportation operations involving trucks and rail.
• Monitor daily activities to guarantee timely and cost‑effective cargo movement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and safety standards.
• Identify, investigate and resolve operational issues while minimizing service disruptions.
• Collaborate with internal departments, transport providers, terminals, customers and other stakeholders for seamless execution.
• Analyze operational data and recommend improvements to boost efficiency, productivity and service quality.
• Maintain accurate operational records, reports and documentation.
• Support process‑optimization initiatives and continuous‑improvement programs.
• Provide guidance and coaching to less experienced team members as needed.
• Participate in projects aimed at enhancing transportation performance and customer experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8‑10+ years of experience in landside transportation, logistics, supply chain or freight operations.
• Strong understanding of truck and rail transportation processes and best practices.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards and compliance requirements.
