Lab Technician II

About the role
The Lab Technician II will join Lennox’s advanced testing facilities to install, commission, and maintain HVAC systems, environmental chambers, and associated laboratory infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering, safety, and facilities teams to ensure a reliable, safe, and compliant lab environment.
Key responsibilities
- Install, commission, and de‑commission HVAC systems, environmental chambers, and related lab equipment.
- Wire and support power electronics such as power supplies, inverters, drives, and test benches.
- Coordinate third‑party contractors for HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and facility work.
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC, lab, and power equipment.
- Develop and maintain safety procedures, SOPs, risk assessments, and lock‑out/tag‑out practices.
- Support engineering teams during product development, validation testing, and failure investigations.
- Assist controls and mechanical engineers with experiment setup, data acquisition, and test instrumentation.
- Maintain laboratory readiness, including utilities, cooling capacity, power availability, grounding, and housekeeping.
- Keep accurate records of equipment installation, calibration, service history, and vendor documentation.
- Support safety, quality, and compliance audits.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2‑5 years (degree) or 5‑9 years (diploma) hands‑on experience with HVAC systems, laboratory equipment, or industrial facilities.
- Proven ability to manage third‑party vendors and contractors.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and EHS practices.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
