L2 Splunk DevOps Engineer – RTM

About the role

The Splunk DevOps Engineer – RTM is responsible for driving the design, development, and automation of Splunk monitoring solutions within the RTM ecosystem. This role bridges Splunk development with modern DevOps practices, focusing on building custom Splunk Apps and Add‑ons, automating deployment pipelines (CI/CD), writing efficient SPL queries, and managing data onboarding via automated infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop complex Splunk dashboards, interactive reports, saved searches, lookups, and alert frameworks.
• Build custom Splunk Apps and Add‑ons from scratch or customize existing Splunkbase apps to meet business needs.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Ansible) to automate deployment, testing, and configuration management of Splunk apps and infrastructure.
• Optimize Search Processing Language (SPL) queries for maximum efficiency and performance.
• Manage advanced data onboarding, field extractions, and parsing using regular expressions and automated ingestion routines.
• Automate recurring maintenance and integration tasks using Python and Shell scripting.
• Collaborate within Agile rituals (Sprint Planning, Reviews) to deliver robust monitoring capabilities.
• Enforce technical standards and Splunk best practices across engineering and support teams.

Required profile

• Engineering or IT graduate with 4+ years of industry experience in Splunk development and DevOps automation.
• Expertise in enterprise‑level Splunk implementations, custom Apps/Add‑ons creation, and advanced alert management.
• Hands‑on experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Strong knowledge of Splunk architecture components such as Universal Forwarders, Indexers, Search Heads, and Deployment Server.
• Proficiency in writing optimized SPL queries and regular expressions for data extraction.
• Solid scripting skills in Python and Shell for automation and integration.
• Practical experience with Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems.
• Proven ability to work effectively in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
