Junior Plant Controller – Operations Finance

About the role

The Junior Plant Controller will be embedded in the Ambernath Annex IS & Switchgear Factory, partnering closely with operations to own and drive the plant’s financial performance. You will manage the factory P&L, monitor cost drivers, and provide actionable insights to improve manufacturing efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the monthly factory P&L, tracking fixed vs. variable costs and flagging margin risks.
• Capture, compute, and analyse the plant hourly rate, presenting trends and variance analysis to leadership.
• Own key plant KPIs (efficiency, productivity, earned hours, conversion cost per hour) and produce monthly performance scorecards.
• Track and validate productivity‑savings initiatives, maintaining a detailed savings tracker.
• Analyse PDSL forecasts versus actuals and investigate gaps.
• Review rate contracts for labour, maintenance, logistics and monitor vendor rates against benchmarks.
• Maintain monthly headcount vs. requirement reports, analysing manpower cost per unit.
• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and prepare plant‑level MIS and flash reports.
• Handle day‑to‑day plant accounting transactions in Oracle ERP, including JVs, cost uploads, accruals and reconciliations.
• Ensure plant accounting complies with applicable standards and internal controls.

Required profile

• Qualified CMA (ICMAI) or equivalent finance certification.
• 3–4 years of experience in manufacturing finance or plant controlling.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
