Junior HSE Officer (Safety Officer)

About the role

The Junior HSE Officer will be the primary on‑site health, safety and environment representative, ensuring day‑to‑day compliance with company procedures, client requirements and UAE regulations across all project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily site safety inspections using standardized checklists and enforce proper PPE usage.
• Issue safety observation reports, violation notices and non‑conformance reports.
• Verify Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) compliance for high‑risk tasks, hot work and confirm validity of worker competency certificates.
• Maintain the site HSE equipment register, track inspections and expiries.
• Investigate incidents and near‑misses, prepare timely incident reports and compile weekly/monthly HSE performance reports.
• Conduct mandatory site HSE inductions, lead daily toolbox talks and support internal/external ISO and client audits.
• Facilitate local regulatory inspections and assist with audit preparation.

Required profile

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) – mandatory.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on field HSE experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering or a related field.

Required skills

• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong technical writing ability for reports and documentation.
