Junior Engineer – Welding & Fabrication

About the role

GE Aerospace is seeking a Junior Engineer to join its Multi‑modal Manufacturing Facility in Pune. The role focuses on welding, forming and fixture inspection for aerospace components, ensuring defect‑free parts while continuously improving productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform TIG and orbital welding of tubes, air manifolds and sheet‑metal parts made from stainless steel and Inconel.
• Repair defective stainless steel and Inconel castings.
• Assemble welded products and operate press machines (hydraulic and mechanical) for metal forming.
• Interpret 2‑D drawings, GD&T specifications, SOPs and manuals to produce finished parts.
• Maintain compliance with EHS and quality system regulations.
• Work shifts while upholding safety and quality standards.
• Utilise welding accessories such as positioners, bevellers, rollers and 3‑D welding tables.

Required profile

• Diploma with at least 2 years of hands‑on experience in welding and fabrication.
• Certified to AWS D17.1 standards for welding in the 6G position with II A & III B materials.
• Experience producing X‑ray quality Class B welds on SS 321 and Inconel 625.
• Willingness to work in shifts and follow organisational policies.
